Cloud workers log in from around the world 24/7 to staff CloudFactory. They come from different worker pools (mostly Mechanical Turk at the moment) but we ensure they meet your requirements before allowing them to work at any task station. We have started building up our own workforce in developing countries as part of our social mission but we also see this as crucial to growing and scaling CloudFactory longterm.

"Changing the way the world works" speaks to work becoming virtual, flexible and scalable. But we also want to change some values and perspectives seen in the world today. We are angered by injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people, so we will tirelessly work for justice, freedom and peace among all people. We strive to treat our cloud workers as our greatest asset ... because they are!

This means MORE than putting up a "Sign up and start earning" web form and maintaining a database of worker usernames. We are developing a replicable model for raising up cloud workers around the world in a way that seeks to transform lives and communities.

Similar to the Grameen model seen in the microfinance world, our model is based on social capital, accountability and field workers on the ground. Along with our partners we seek to recruit, train, equip and manage cloud workers across developing nations to unlock immense human potential and build a motivated and skilled workforce never seen before.

Through a non-profit arm we soon plan to allow people to donate to help equip a training graduate with a cloud worker kit. Each cloud worker will repay a portion of it as a microloan so we can multiply the effect and equip a growing number of other cloud workers.
